Facilitation Skills

​The Facilitation Skills course covers all the skills and techniques needed to work effectively with groups to deliver effective outcomes, and gain the commitment of those involved.  Facilitation skills are essential whether running effective meetings, workshops, solving problems, mediating conflict or gaining consensus to a particular course of action.

This programme will give you the skills, tools and confidence needed to facilitate effectively. It is appropriate for anyone who needs to work with groups to achieve change and improve effectiveness.

Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand the role of the facilitator and when to use facilitation

  • Understand the different approaches to facilitation

  • Be aware of the key attitudes and behaviours needed for effective facilitation

  • Have reviewed and practised the basic skills needed to facilitate effectively

  • Understand the importance of team dynamics in facilitation

  • Be familiar with the key tools and techniques that can be used in facilitation

Methodology

 

Our courses, developed in the framework established by the Erasmus+ Programme, are crafted to include both formal and non-formal education methodologies. Starting with a theoretical approach to the theme of the course, we proceed with non-formal learning strategies in order to guarantee and stimulate an active contribution from the participants involved. In practice, we use: Presentations; Analysis of study cases; Discussions in the classroom; Role-plays; Technical visits to local private and public institutions; Conferences with local professionals to exchange good practices; Job shadowing experiences; Workshops to rethink old practices and introduce new ones.

Preparation

Prior to the start of the course, participants will receive a detailed programme outlining the content and structure of the course, as well as recommended reading and viewing material relevant to the course contents. They will also receive practical information about Wolverhampton, including maps, places of interest and accommodation.

Certifications

We will hand out:

  • Certificate of attendance, which will include title of course, main training content and dates;

  • Europass Mobility certificates issued by your NA and signed by us.
